What does an IT help desk do?
An IT help desk is the team your staff contact when technology gets in the way of their work. It logs the problem, fixes it (usually remotely), and sends a technician when it needs hands. Typical requests from a Mississauga office:
- Access: password resets, locked accounts, sign-in codes that will not arrive
- Email and Microsoft 365: Outlook, Teams, shared mailboxes and licences
- Devices: slow laptops, printers, docking stations and phones
- Connections: Wi-Fi drops and remote access for staff working from home

Is a help desk the same as a service desk?
Close, and most people use the words interchangeably. Strictly speaking:
- A help desk fixes things that break.
- A service desk also handles requests and changes: a new starter’s laptop and accounts, software installs, access to a shared folder.
For your staff the difference should not matter. Ours handles both through the same number, so nobody has to work out which desk to ask.
Should you outsource your help desk?
Outsourced help desk support makes sense when any of these sound familiar:
- Your IT staff spend most of the day on tickets, not projects
- Support stops when your one IT person is on holiday or off sick
- You have grown past what one or two people can answer
- Hiring another IT person costs more than the work justifies
It does not have to replace your team. Many IT managers hand us the day-to-day tickets and keep their own people on the work that moves the business forward.

Straight answers about help desk service in Mississauga
How much does an outsourced help desk cost?
A fixed monthly fee, set mainly by how many people and devices you support. You get the exact number after the free assessment. Our IT pricing guide explains what drives the cost.
We have our own IT team. Can you take just the help desk?
Yes. With co-managed IT, we take the day-to-day tickets and your team keeps the projects and the systems they want to own.
How fast do you respond?
Within 15 minutes when a problem is critical, meaning it stops people working. If a fix needs someone at your desk, a technician can be on site anywhere in the GTA within the hour.
Is it safe to give an outside help desk access to our systems?
Yes. We are SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certified: independent audits of how we protect client systems and data.
Do you only support offices in Mississauga?
No. Our head office is in Mississauga and we support offices across the GTA, including Toronto, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington and Vaughan.
