Could Your Business Survive a Data Disaster?
Most businesses discover their backup strategy has failed at the worst possible moment. These are the risks you may not realize you are carrying.
-
01
Untested Backups You assume your backups work because the job shows "successful." But has anyone actually restored from them? Untested backups fail when you need them most.
-
02
No Ransomware Protection Standard backups connected to your network can be encrypted by ransomware alongside your production data. Without immutable, air-gapped copies, your backup is just another target.
-
03
No Defined Recovery Plan You back up data, but nobody has documented or practiced the recovery process. When disaster strikes, your team is guessing instead of executing.
-
04
Slow Recovery Times Restoring from legacy or basic cloud backup takes days. Every hour of downtime costs revenue, damages client relationships, and erodes employee confidence.
-
05
Incomplete Coverage Your servers are backed up but not your M365 data, SaaS applications, or cloud workloads. Gaps in coverage mean gaps in recovery.
-
06
No Compliance Documentation Auditors ask for backup policies, retention schedules, and recovery test results. You cannot produce them because they do not exist.
We design backup and recovery strategies that eliminate these risks entirely. Here is how we protect your business data.
Business Continuity You Can Count On
Backup and disaster recovery is not just about copying files, it is about ensuring your business can continue operating when the unexpected happens. At BALANCED+, we design, implement, and manage comprehensive BDR strategies that protect every layer of your environment and get you back online fast.
Multi-Layer Backup Architecture
We deploy automated backup solutions that protect your on-premises servers, cloud workloads, Microsoft 365 data, SaaS applications, and endpoint devices. Backups are encrypted, stored across multiple locations, and protected with immutable storage that cannot be modified or deleted by ransomware. Our 3-2-1 backup strategy ensures at least three copies of your data, on two different media types, with one stored off-site.
Tested Recovery Plans
A backup is only as good as its last successful restore. We conduct regular recovery testing, quarterly at minimum, to verify that your backups actually work and that your recovery procedures deliver within your defined RTO (recovery time objective) and RPO (recovery point objective) targets. Every test is documented with results, timing data, and any gaps that need attention. Your team participates in annual DR exercises so they know exactly what to do when a real incident occurs.
Rapid Recovery
When disaster strikes, every minute counts. Our BDR solutions are designed for rapid recovery, from instant VM failover for critical servers to granular file-level restores for individual documents. We maintain documented runbooks for every recovery scenario and our support team is available 24/7 to execute recovery procedures.
Compliance-Ready Documentation
For regulated industries, we provide the backup policies, retention schedules, recovery test reports, and audit documentation that compliance frameworks require. SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and PIPEDA all have specific backup and recovery requirements; our solutions are designed to meet them.
What's Included
Automated Backup
Fully automated, encrypted backup for servers, workstations, M365, cloud workloads, and SaaS applications. Multi-location storage with immutable copies that cannot be tampered with by ransomware or insider threats.
Disaster Recovery Planning
Documented DR plans with defined RTO and RPO targets for every critical system. Regular testing, quarterly restores and annual full DR exercises, with detailed results reporting.
Rapid Recovery & Failover
Instant VM failover for critical servers, granular restore for individual files and emails, and full bare-metal recovery for complete system failures. 24/7 recovery support from our engineering team.
We got hit with ransomware on a Friday night. By Saturday morning, BALANCED+ had our critical systems restored from immutable backups. Our previous provider said recovery would take a week. BALANCED+ did it in hours.
How It Works
Assess
We audit your current backup strategy, identify gaps in coverage, evaluate your RTO/RPO requirements, and assess ransomware resilience. You get a clear report of where you stand.
Design
We architect a BDR strategy tailored to your environment, backup schedules, retention policies, storage locations, and recovery procedures for every critical system.
Deploy
We implement backup agents, configure storage, set up monitoring, and run initial full backups across your entire environment. Immutable storage is configured to protect against ransomware.
Test & Maintain
Regular recovery testing, backup monitoring, storage management, and DR plan updates. Quarterly test restores and annual full DR exercises keep your recovery capability proven.
Why Choose BALANCED+ for Backup & DR
We do not just back up your data, we ensure you can actually recover from any disaster scenario, tested and proven.
Immutable Backups
Your backups are stored in write-once, read-many storage that cannot be encrypted, modified, or deleted by ransomware, even if an attacker compromises your admin credentials.
Tested Recovery
We run quarterly disaster recovery tests and provide documented proof that your backups actually restore. You will never discover your backups are broken during a real emergency.
Rapid Recovery Times
Our architecture delivers recovery time objectives measured in minutes for critical systems, not hours or days. Business continuity means your operations keep running, not just your data survives.
Compliance Documentation
Every backup policy, test result, and recovery procedure is documented and audit-ready. When compliance auditors ask about your DR plan, you hand them a binder, not an apology.

Frequently Asked Questions
Backup is the process of copying data to a secure location. Disaster recovery is the plan and infrastructure for restoring that data and getting your business operational after an incident. A good BDR strategy includes both: reliable backups and a tested, documented recovery plan with defined recovery time and recovery point objectives.
Immutable backups are copies that cannot be modified, encrypted, or deleted, even by administrators or ransomware. This matters because modern ransomware specifically targets backup systems. With immutable storage, your recovery copies remain intact and available even during a full-scale ransomware attack.
We conduct documented recovery tests at minimum quarterly, with annual full disaster recovery exercises. Each test verifies that backups are restorable within your defined RTO/RPO targets and produces documentation suitable for compliance auditors.
Yes. Microsoft’s native retention policies are not a backup solution. We deploy third-party backup for Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams that provides full point-in-time recovery independent of Microsoft’s infrastructure. This protects against accidental deletion, ransomware, and compliance retention requirements.
RTO (Recovery Time Objective) is how quickly you need to be back online after a disaster. RPO (Recovery Point Objective) is how much data loss you can tolerate, the time between your last backup and the incident. We define these targets for each critical system based on your business requirements and design the BDR solution to meet them.
With our immutable backup and instant failover infrastructure, critical systems can be restored within hours. The exact timeline depends on the scope of the attack and your specific RTO targets. We have recovered clients from ransomware incidents over weekends with full operations restored by Monday morning.
