Pro Bono IT Consulting & CRM Integration for SIGNIS
BALANCED+ delivered pro bono IT consulting for SIGNIS, integrating their membership portal with Maximizer CRM, enabling online payments, and building a searchable global member directory for this international media organization spanning 100+ countries.
About the Organization
SIGNIS is the World Catholic Association for Communication, a global non-governmental organization formed in 2001 from the merger of Unda and OCIC. With members in over 100 countries, SIGNIS unites professionals in radio, television, cinema, digital media, and other communication sectors under a shared mission: promoting a Culture of Peace through media.
The organization engages in film promotion, media content production and distribution, professional training, media education, and intercultural dialogue. SIGNIS also advocates for media independence, just representation, and the development of communication capacity in underserved regions, making it a vital force in global peacebuilding through the power of media.
The Challenge
As a global organization with members spanning more than 100 countries, SIGNIS faced significant operational challenges in managing its membership and communications infrastructure. Their existing systems were fragmented, membership data lived in silos, payments were handled manually, and there was no centralized way for members to discover one another or engage with upcoming events. For an organization built on connecting media professionals worldwide, these gaps were holding back their mission.
- Membership data was siloed with no centralized management system
- No online payment processing for membership dues or event fees
- Members across 100+ countries had no way to discover or connect with each other
- Event promotion and participation tracking were handled manually
- Growing global membership required scalable digital infrastructure
