About This Role
BALANCED+ is seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to provide technical support and execute IT projects across our diverse client base. You’ll be responsible for designing and deploying network infrastructure, troubleshooting connectivity issues, managing network security, and providing strategic guidance to clients about their network and cybersecurity architecture.
This role is perfect for a flexible self-starter with strong communication skills and hands-on experience in networking and network security products. You’ll work directly with clients to optimize their infrastructure, resolve issues quickly, and implement solutions that improve efficiency and security. If you have 3+ years of hands-on networking experience and solid knowledge of Fortinet products, we’d like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Design and install well-functioning computer networks, connections, and cabling infrastructure
- Perform network troubleshooting, identify failures and bottlenecks, and ensure long-term network efficiency
- Inspect LAN/WAN/Internet infrastructure and resolve minor and major problems efficiently
- Test and configure network software, maintain and repair network devices
- Evaluate network performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance with minimal operational disruption
- Perform regular data backups to protect organizational information
- Provide technical direction and comprehensive guidance to co-workers on network usage
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues with network equipment and software
- Collaborate with peers on daily operations, special projects, and technical troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate records of client systems and ensure compliance across project teams
Qualifications
- 3+ years of verified professional experience as a network technician, network engineer, or similar role
- College diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Hands-on knowledge of Fortinet products, specifically FortiGate, FortiSIEM, and FortiSOAR
- Fortinet certifications required
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols, and network technologies
- Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Hands-on experience with common networking software and hardware
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments
- Self-starter with a track record of successful, credible achievements
- Valid driver's licence, client site visits are required (travel reimbursed)
Nice to Have
- CCNA or other Cisco networking certifications
- Advanced Fortinet certifications (NSE4 or higher)
- Experience with Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Cloud Fortigate)
- Experience with network monitoring (Zabbix) and ticketing systems (Zendesk)
- Hands-on server maintenance and virtualization experience (VMware, Hyper-V)
