About This Role
BALANCED+ is seeking a hands-on Cybersecurity Engineer to design, deploy, and secure network infrastructure for our diverse client base. You’ll be responsible for planning and implementing security measures, troubleshooting network and system vulnerabilities, and responding to security incidents across multiple business environments.
This role is ideal for a flexible self-starter with strong technical skills in Fortinet products, networking fundamentals, and cybersecurity best practices. You’ll work directly with clients to assess their infrastructure, identify gaps, and deploy solutions that protect their data and systems. If you have 3+ years of hands-on network or cybersecurity experience and solid Fortinet knowledge, we’d like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and install well-functioning computer networks and security infrastructure
- Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures to protect client data, systems, and networks
- Troubleshoot security and network problems, responding quickly to breaches and incidents
- Perform network infrastructure gap analysis and penetration testing
- Evaluate network performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements for long-term efficiency
- Identify and resolve network and system vulnerabilities through regular assessments and testing
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance with minimal impact to client operations
- Perform regular device configuration and data backups to protect organizational information
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues with network equipment and software
- Collaborate with peers on daily operations, special projects, and knowledge sharing
- Maintain accurate records of client systems and ensure compliance across project teams
Qualifications
- Hands-on knowledge of Fortinet product line: FortiGate, SIEM, SOAR, EDR, SASE, NAC, and ZTNA
- Fortinet NSE4 certification is required; NSE7 is strongly preferred
- 3+ years of verified professional experience as a network technician, network engineer, or similar role
- College diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills with strong troubleshooting ability
- Solid awareness of cybersecurity trends, attack vectors, and current hacking techniques
- Proficiency in Python; PowerShell knowledge is a bonus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Self-starter with a track record of successful, credible achievements and ability to work independently
- Valid driver's licence, client site visits are required (travel reimbursed)
Nice to Have
- Fortinet NSE7 certification or higher
- CCNA or similar networking certification
- Experience with Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Cloud Fortigate)
- Experience with monitoring systems (Zabbix) and ticketing platforms (Zendesk)
- Hands-on penetration testing experience
